HR consultancy Macmillan Davies opens new Midlands hub
HR recruitment consultancy Macmillan Davies has opened a new Midlands office in Birmingham. The office will be led by new hire Nicola Morris.
Founded in 1979, Macmillan Davies bills itself as the longest established HR recruitment consultancy. The firm specialises in recruiting the top HR talent across the public, private and third sectors – both in the UK and globally.
While many clients froze recruitment drives amid adverse trading conditions in the last three years, Macmillan Davies has seen a surge in demand for its services over the last six months in particular. Managing Director Darren Hayman believes is a sign the business is recovering from the dual threats of Covid-19, and the impact of the exit from the EU.
Amid this demand, the firm has opened a new Midlands hub in Birmingham’s business and financial quarter. With the market having been an integral geographic source of demand throughout the firm’s history, the launch reinforces and supports Macmillan Davies’ commitment to the region.
Hayman added, “Birmingham is the perfect link between our Manchester and London offices, and the new office means we have now filled the missing piece in our armoury. Birmingham is a hive of economic activity, with a thriving business community, further fuelled by the significant amount of investment being ploughed into the city, and our central city location means our Midlands team is at its heart.”
The local will be led by recent arrival Nicola Morris. Working alongside Nick Allwood – regional director, and head of the firm’s Manchester office – the new associate will work to grow the firm’s regional offering.
A specialist in HR recruitment since 2015, Morris brings experience gained from working in both in-house HR roles and within recruitment agencies and in-house talent acquisition teams. Over the last ten years, she has placed hundreds of candidates in a range of disciplines and seniority, from junior executives to C-suite and CPO.
On joining Macmillan Davies, Morris noted, "The opportunity to join such a well-established, specialist HR talent search and recruitment business, feels the natural next step for me and my career. I am excited to become part of such a dedicated team and particularly for the next 12-months, which will see me lead the development of our Midlands offering, working closely with the existing North West and London teams, and connecting with people I have worked with previously from across the HR profession, in order to support Macmillan Davies’ ambitious growth plans."
