Evelyn Partners makes financial planning hires in Bristol and Birmingham
As Evelyn Partners continues to grow its offering across the UK, the firm has installed Callum Ogden as a financial planner in Birmingham. Meanwhile, Will Thompson arrives as a financial planning director in Bristol.
Ogden commented, “I chose Evelyn Partners because of their ability to assist people across the gamut of financial requirements. My carefully constructed financial plans will be backed up by excellent investment management and the additional benefit of the accountancy and wider professional services within the same business means clients can benefit from a properly holistic offering. This hopefully will give them peace of mind about the likelihood of achieving their goals and objectives.”
After exiting the British Army in 2017, Ogden became a trainee financial planner with Telford Mann. Since his career pivot, Ogden has risen to hold a number of roles in the segment, and most recently was spent a year as a personal wealth advisor for Schroders Personal Wealth. He has also worked with Oak Wealth Planning and Simpson Financial Services.
Speaking on the new arrival, Niraj Vyas, managing partner at Evelyn Partners, commented, “I am delighted to welcome Callum to Evelyn Partners. Callum brings valuable experience both from working in financial services and serving in the British Army. I look forward to working with Callum as we continue to grow our brand and presence across the Midlands.”
Formerly known as Tilney Smith & Williamson, Evelyn Partners rebranded in 2022, with its leaders claiming the new name reflected the company's "single purpose". The new name is drawn from Evelyn Gardens, the 1893 London address of one of the founders of the business. The announcement came less than two years after the firms Tilney and Smith & Williamson merged in a deal creating the third-largest UK wealth manager when ranked by revenues.
The firm has also made a new hire in its Bristol office. Joining as a financial planning director, Will Thompson brings more than a decade of knowhow to the firm, having spent his career advising high net-worth individuals, families and trustees in a range of planning and tax-based areas.
Richard Mikdadi, managing partner in Evelyn Partners’ Bristol office, noted, “We are delighted that the Bristol office continues to attract talent of Will’s calibre from the local market. We are confident that his appointment is another boost to an already exceptionally strong financial planning team.”
Thompson joins Evelyn Partners from Rathbones where he spent the past three and a half years as a senior financial planner. Prior to that he also spent 11 years at Old Mill, where he was an associate director.
On his new challenge, Thompson said, “I am thrilled to join the team in Bristol. The breadth of services and expertise here, and the scale of the regional presence, were particularly attractive factors to me in joining Evelyn Partners.”
