Evelyn Partners has strengthened its fast-growing professional services arm with the acquisition of ReSolve Advisory. The restructuring and business advisory firm is based in Charing Cross, London.

Founded in 2020, following the merger of Tilney and Smith & Williamson, Evelyn Partners is a wealth management and professional services group with offices in 30 hubs across the UK, the Republic of Ireland and the Channel Islands. The firm has £62.7 billion of assets under management, making it one of the largest such consultancies in the UK.

Evelyn Partners’ size has been buoyed by a rapid campaign of acquisitions in recent years. Since the start of 2023, Evelyn Partners has Newcastle and Harrogate based firm Leathers, Cambridge’s Ashcroft Partnership, Tunbridge Wells headquartered Creaseys, Harwood Hutton in Beaconsfield, and Haines Watts’s three northern offices in Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle. It also obtained the international disputes team from KPMG, which Evelyn Partners added to its forensic services practice.

As Evelyn Partners looks to build on this momentum, it has swooped for ReSolve. The deal sees 60 employees including 12 partners and directors join Evelyn Partners as part of its recovery and restructuring services team – with the firm often advising wealth funds on their administration process.

Andrew Wilkes, chief professional services director of Evelyn Partners, said, “We are delighted to welcome the team at ReSolve to Evelyn Partners’ Professional Services business. ReSolve is an impressive firm that has helped hundreds of businesses deal with challenging circumstances. It is a highly complementary fit with our existing strengths in recovery and restructuring services and also follows a similar Partner-led approach to working with clients as we do.”

Founded in 2006 by Cameron Gunn and Mark Supperstone, ReSolve provides a wide range of advisory services to help businesses navigate complex challenges. Its expertise includes restructuring, insolvency and administration services alongside strategic advice and assistance for companies requiring turnaround services. Examples of companies it has worked with include Everest, TM Lewin, London Irish and Jessops.

Cameron Gunn, senior partner of ReSolve, added, “We have been exceptionally impressed with the quality of the recovery and restructuring team at Evelyn Partners. Joining this wonderful team will further strengthen our ability to rapidly support and assist our clients experiencing pressing financial needs. We look forward to continuing to build our newly merged business in the same commercial and entrepreneurial spirit which we have done for the previous eighteen years.”
