Consultancy BIP brings Italian net zero festival to London
Global consulting firm BIP is bringing its flagship ‘Il Verde e il Blu Festival’ to the UK. The second edition of the festival, which previously took place in Italy, will feature meetings, panels and performances from experts looking to help envisage a new form of economics, politics and living in the 21st century.
Founded in 2003 in Italy, BIP has since grown to become one of the fastest growing consultancies in the world – with more than 4,500 employees globally. In the UK, BIP fast-tracked its growth with the 2020 acquisition of Chaucer.
This week, the UK wing of BIP is bringing the firm’s ‘Il Verde e il Blu Festival’ to the local market. Translated as ‘Green and Blue Festival’, the event aims to showcase ways in which “the green of sustainability and the blue of digital” can transform the world in the coming years.
On the 13th of June in London, the Green and Blue Festival will welcome global leaders, including the UK’s current Minister for Net Zero Graham Stuart, Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi and Bassam Fattouh, Director of the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, to share their knowledge and experience through thought-provoking discussions, interactive panels and engaging networking sessions.
The UK event is supported by the Italian Embassy. The inaugural edition of the festival took place in September 2022 in Milan, Italy (where BIP is headquartered).
Carlo Capè, CEO of BIP, commented, “At BIP, we’re committed to creating a sustainable future. Following the success of our first ‘Il Verde e il Blu Festival’ we’re pleased to host industry leaders to share ideas and solutions in the battle against climate change and environmental decline.”
The event will cover topics such as the future of energy, transition strategies for secure, affordable and clean energy, and digital technologies as an enabler for a sustainability revolution. This includes key themes on the journey to net zero, such as rules and regulations to support the circular economy and sustainable development; the interplay between net zero and digitalisation; and developing a bottom-up approach to encourage sustainable choices by consumers.
As part of the festival, BIP will also welcome three innovative businesses shaping the future of energy to take the stage and showcase their stories as part of a panel on ‘Breakthrough solutions for the sustainable revolution’. These are Ripple Energy, which enables consumers to buy a share in a solar park; Evolito, an electric aerospace motor technology firm, which is aiming to open up new opportunities for the electrical vehicle market; and Evja, which uses AI to help farmers improve chemical and irrigation management, minimising their environmental impact.
