Royal HaskoningDHV hires Cindy Meervis and Niels Schallenberg
Royal HaskoningDHV has appointed two former management consultants as Corporate Directors. Cindy Meervis previously served PA Consulting Group and has been named Corporate Director of Human Resource Management, while Niels Schallenberg, appointed Corporate Director of Strategy, previously worked for Deloitte Consulting.
Prior to joining Royal HaskoningDHV Cindy Meervis worked as a HR Director for Vehicle Refinishes at AkzoNobel for two years, following a promotion from the position of Business Partner Global HR and Corporate Strategy, which she started in 2010. Previously, she worked for PA Consulting Group for four years, in the role of Senior (HR) Management Consultant. Between 2004 and 2006, she worked as a Senior Consultant at Nolan, Norton & Co. Additional roles include Segment Manager Retail for Small Post Offices for Belgian Post, and a Management Trainee at Ormit.
Meervis holds a Master in Applied Economics from the Catholic University of Louvain, and studied European Studies at the Catholic University Louvain-la-Neuve. She further attended the Vlerick Management School in topics related to General Management.
Meervis, in her new role as Corporate Director of Human Resource Management at Royal HaskoningDHV, will leverage her more than 15 years of professional experience to further develop the firm’s performance and client driven culture global HR strategy. She will take on the new position as of 1 April 2016, reports to Jaska de Bakker, and succeeds Kees Lekkerkerker.
Prior to joining Royal HaskoningDHV, Niels Schallenberg worked as a Group Strategy Director for the Grontmij Group from 2013, where he was responsible for company-wide strategic initiatives. Previously, he worked at Deloitte Consulting in a number of roles. Mmost recently, from 2012, as a Director in the firm’s Strategy & Operations practice area, with responsibility for the operational management of the Dutch Strategy Service line and its more than 40 employees. Prior to which, he held the role of Director of Strategy & Operations at Deloitte Australia between 2008 and 2011. Schallenberg started his career at Deloitte in 2003, climbing to the role of Manager in the years before his move to Australia.
Schallenberg holds a Master in Industrial Engineering and Management Science from Eindhoven University of Technology.
Schallenberg, in his new role as Corporate Director of Strategy at Royal HaskoningDHV, will be responsible for crafting and executing the corporate strategy of the company, and in addition, will advise the Executive Board on the further implementation of the company's current strategy 'Vision 2018' as well as the development of a long-term global vision. Schallenberg will also report to Jaska de Bakker.
