HR consultancy LACE Partners has expanded its senior executive management team, with the appointment of Simon Puryer. He joins as Executive Practice Lead, with a focus on growing the firm’s payroll offering.

LACE Partners’ Managing Director, Aaron Alburey, commented, “This is another important strategic appointment for LACE. We pride ourselves on being ‘fundamentally different’ and we do that through the expertise of our people – when you partner with LACE you get such a breadth of experience and expertise from start to finish and Simon joins us to continue that heritage of delivering the best and most experienced payroll consultancy support to all enterprise businesses from all sectors. We’re delighted to have him on board.”

LACE is a boutique consultancy specialising in HR transformation, change and technology advisory work. With a tightening talent market meaning firms are increasingly looking for support from consultancies to help obtain and retain the labour needed for success, LACE has been enjoying keen demand in recent years.

Simon Puryer joins LACE as Executive Director

Puryer was previously Managing Director at business consultancy i-Realise, a company where he spent 16 years in senior roles. In his latter role with the advisory firm, Puryer took accountability for the strategic direction of the business and day-to-day operations, helping grow revenue by 50%, and profitability by 20%.

In the last two years LACE has seen a rapid growth in requirements for payroll consultancy support. Joining LACE, Puryer will work to evolve its support for all types of businesses requiring end-to-end payroll support.

Speaking on the next step of his career, Puryer noted, “I am absolutely delighted to be joining LACE Partners at such an exciting time of growth and expansion. Their client base, delivery approach, passion for all things HR and company values are all hugely impressive and why I was so keen to join. They already have a good track record within Payroll Transformation but I am looking forward to working with the team and taking this to the next level”.

The latest appointment represents more experience and breadth of knowledge added to LACE’s HR and payroll transformation approaches – with the organisation having more than doubled in size in the last 18 months. Since 2023, the firm has been growing even more rapidly, having received major backing from private equity investor Mobeus at the start of the year.
