BDO names Graham Handy and Steve Salisbury as partners
Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has invested further in its people with the appointment of two new partners. Steve Salisbury and Graham Handy join its London office.
Paul Eagland, Managing Partner at BDO commented, “Steve and Graham’s appointments are a key part of our ongoing investment in our audit and advisory capabilities and resources. As the profession continues to go through a historic period of reform, we remain committed to providing the highest level of quality services for both UK and global businesses.”
Since the start of this financial year BDO has appointed 28 new partners. According to Eagland, both Handy and Salisbury’s experience and expertise will support the continued development of their respective teams.
Salisbury joins BDO as a Partner in its specialist technical risk assurance (TRA) team within the audit department – in a role which will see him working closely with the wider TRA team to support their continued growth. He brings more than 20 years of experience to BDO as an auditor, most recently leading and delivering IT and advisory engagements with Big Four firm PwC.
Speaking on his appointment, Salisbury noted, “We are seeing some exciting and dynamic businesses come through in the mid-market, FinTech space who require increasingly complex technical solutions. My past sector expertise and experience in risk assurance mean I can fully support them.”
Handy meanwhile joins as Partner with the firm’s insurance industry team, focusing on the continued growth of BDO’s actuarial and general consulting practices. Handy brings almost 30 years of experience of senior line management and senior consultancy experience, specialising in corporate M&A, board advisory and risk management projects. He spent the last three years as a Managing Director in global insurance services with FTI Consulting.
On his new challenge, Handy concluded, “The financial services sector continues to face unprecedented levels of change, but the sector remains resilient; making significant contributions to local markets. This is an exciting time to be joining BDO and I’m thrilled to be part of a passionate team who strive to deliver ambitious leading solutions.”
BDO is the world's fifth largest accountancy and business advisory firm, providing services to businesses within the UK and worldwide. The firm has more than 3,500 staff in the UK, and generates close to £400 million in revenues across the country.
