Mazars relocates to hybrid-friendly Edinburgh office
International audit, tax and advisory firm Mazars has moved to a flagship Edinburgh city-centre location. The new development features improved environmental credentials, and facilities for hybrid working in the post-pandemic era.
In recent years, Scotland’s first city has seen one of the highest rates of house price growth of any location in the UK, alongside strong wage growth. This makes it one of the UK cities with most promising growth prospects, attracting talent and investment from across the country.
Partly thanks to this reputation, demand has jumped for consulting firms which support the city’s thriving business ecosystem. Like BDO and Kin + Carta before it, professional services firm Mazars has subsequently announced it will move to a new office in Edinburgh – which can help it better meet the changing needs of its clients.
Laura Clarkson, Edinburgh office Managing Partner, commented, “After 15 enjoyable years in our Haymarket office, during which time our Edinburgh team has grown significantly, it feels like the right time to move to a new location which will serve us and our clients long into the future.”
The move to a new office at 58 Morrison Street places Mazars in the heart of Edinburgh’s commercial centre. The space will also help the firm respond to two other key trends which have manifested in recent years – the drive for flexible working, and the need to decrease carbon emissions.
According to Clarkson, the new hub responds to Mazars learning during the pandemic that “there is no single best way to work.” The office will therefore better facilitate a more collaborative and hybrid approach to working, allowing people to move around the office depending on what the task at hand, alongside having the option to work from home.
She added, “In consultation with our people and our clients, we are embracing a hybrid working model which encourages our team to work in the way, and from the location, which best achieves our goal of producing an exceptional level of quality and service. Our new office is designed with spaces which truly reflect a modern and dynamic way of thinking, as well as supporting our commitment to sustainability.”
The new office also boasts exceptional sustainability standards, with the building achieving the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) excellent standard. According to BREEAM’s method of assessing, rating, and certifying the sustainability of buildings, this puts it in the top 10% of most sustainable commercial office buildings in the UK. In line with Mazars’ sustainability strategy, it also features a building-wide recycling scheme capable of recycling 100% of its waste.
