Kin + Carta opens Edinburgh and Bristol hubs
Global digital transformation consultancy Kin + Carta has grown its UK office count to five, with the launch of new teams in Edinburgh and Bristol. The move comes as the advisory firm continues to invest in UK talent.
Kin + Carta has been undergoing a major transformation in recent years. Originally a printing business based in St Ives, Kin + Carta has since pivoted its model to become a digital transformation consultancy. Now, the firm has offices across the UK, Europe, the US, South America, and Asia, with a global team of some 1,500 technologists, strategists and creatives.
Edinburgh is widely considered to be one of the data capitals of Europe, making it an important market for Kin + Carta. Edinburgh boasts a deep talent pool in the space, with tech startups and innovative technology being developed in the city. By locating a team in the Scottish city, Kin + Carta enables itself to tap into the highly skilled labour market, while also building bridges with digital trend-setters that could prove beneficial for the firm’s clients.
David Tuck, Group CEO of Kin + Carta for Europe – and also an Edinburgh native – commented, “Edinburgh is key for our long-term growth. We have a number of our leaders who call the city home, including our Public Sector Client Lead, Director of Managed Services, Head of Mobile, and our Chairman, so building out our offering here made perfect sense. We want this new hub to be a destination for our people, for innovation and for building a world that works better for everyone. And to have that happening in my home city is personally very exciting.”
With direct flight paths to Chicago – where Kin + Carta’s US central office is located – the new locale will provide an important point of access between the firm’s presences either side of the Atlantic. At the same time, it will help bolster relations between Kin + Carta, and public sector clients across the UK. The firm is now active on most of UK government and Scottish government consulting frameworks, and recent wins in the sector demonstrate that its reputation in the sector is growing – making having outposts across the country important to meet further demand.
To that end, Kin + Carta has also rolled out a new team at the other end of the UK – in Bristol. The southern hub is also seeking to tap into a rich pool of local talent – in particular, when it comes to public sector work. Bristol chosen due to its strong public sector heritage, with the digital transformation consultancy looking to build a market-leading team.
Illustrating the demand this will help the firm to meet, the introduction of the Bristol-based team comes on the heels of Kin + Carta being named The Planning Inspectorate‘s Cloud Software Engineering Partner of choice. The news continues a business relationship that started in January 2022, and will see the firm and client continue creating a new end-to-end digital solution, to improve the department’s user experience on their most important services.
Emma Charles, Director of Public Sector Delivery at Kin + Carta, added, “The introduction of our Bristol team shows a real commitment to the country’s public sector. We are building a market-leading team by hiring industry experts and pairing them with our best and brightest. And some of the best public sector talent around is in Bristol.”
The news sees Kin + Carta grow its number of UK offices to five. Alongside Edinburgh and Bristol, the firm also has its global headquarters in London, and further offices in Liverpool and Manchester.
