Moorfields Advisory has opened the doors of a new office in Preston, as it looks to make the most of rising demand for turnaround consulting in North West England. The new office will be led by Mark Delaney, who joins Moorfields with more than two decades of experience in insolvency matters.

Founded in 2010, Moorfields Advisory has a team of around 40 consultants and staff. The firm’s clients range from small business and SME’s to family–run companies and major multinationals. Moorfields provides them with a range of services, including debt advisory and alternative finance options, restructuring, and contingency planning.

As insolvencies in the UK continue to rise, services pertaining to corporate turnarounds and asset recovery are coming in for heightened demand. With the firm looking to tap into this, Moorfields has announced the launch of a new office in North West England.

Mike Solomons, Lead Partner “We are excited to be expanding our presence in the North, whilst we have always operated nationally we have seen increased demand for our services in the North West so felt it was important to have a strong team and physical presence to further support our clients.”

Moorfields is currently enacting a growth strategy, aiming at better servicing clients in North England, and the new Preston presence forms part of that commitment. At the same time, it further expands the firm’s national footprint, as its fourth UK office, alongside existing presences in London, Gatwick and Worthing.

Leading the new office will be Mark Delaney, who joins Moorfields as a Partner. Well regarded across the North West, Delaney brings 23 years of experience to the role, having spent his career supporting clients on a broad range of corporate and personal restructuring and insolvency matters across a wide variety of sectors.

Delaney commented, “I am delighted to head up the new office in Preston and looking forward to expanding the firm’s offering and presence in the North West. With the North-West boasting a growing technology ecosystem, Moorfields is the latest in a long list of consulting firms to launch a presence there. These range from international professional services giants such as KPMG and Deloitte, to mid-market operators like Theta Global Advisors, and business intelligence firm bdg.
