UK headquartered Baringa has stepped up its expansion across North America, launching a new office in Charlotte. The firm’s first locale in North Carolina is its fourth in the US.

Originating in London, Baringa has since become a global consultancy, operating in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. It first arrived in the US in 2016, and has since opened offices in New York, Austin, and Chicago.

Baringa provides consulting services across a number of markets. These include the energy, financial services, consumer products and government sectors. Among its offerings are economic advisory, technology transformation and data advisory, while clients include a number of Financial Times Stock Exchange 100 names, as well as many up-and-coming start-ups.

In recent years, Baringa has observed notable growth in US clients seeking the firm's skills in addressing a wide range of challenges. These include requests for complex financial and risk advisory, technology transformation and consultancy on future energy systems.

The firm’s new hub in Charlotte, North Carolina, was chosen to help meet these demands – with the city’s strong talent pipeline, and growing business network both attracting the company. The city also boasts the second-largest banking centre in the US, by total assets.

Brad O’Brien, US Financial Services Partner at Baringa, commented, “US businesses are experiencing demands from multiple stakeholders. Companies of all sizes are responding to the growing challenges from climate change, while continuing to capitalise on new opportunities to drive growth and serve their customers… With the significant growth we’ve experienced in the financial services sector, opening an office in Charlotte makes sense strategically.”

Beyond its traditional financial services remit, Baringa has also experienced notable growth in its clients requesting assistance when undertaking sustainability transformations. With the trend set to continue as a rapidly evolving regulatory environment requires further change, Baringa will hope to source new talent in Charlotte to deal with further sustainability demand.

"We’re excited and proud to be expanding our operation in Charlotte, a location with a great base of businesses and talent,” added Amar Keshani, Baringa's Director in Charlotte. “The US’ strong financial services industry can survive and thrive through any economic headwinds coming in 2023, and from here, we can help our clients to do so.”
