Version 1 buys up IT consultancy Automation Logic

IT consulting firm Automation Logic has been purchased by Version 1, for an undisclosed fee. The firm’s shareholders were advised on the sale by professionals from Alantra.

Enda Diggins, Managing Director of Version 1’s UK Digital, Data and Cloud practice, said, “Version 1 and Automation Logic are combining to create one of the strongest cloud transformation capabilities in the UK. This acquisition deepens our Digital, Data and Cloud expertise, providing more opportunities for our people to develop professionally, and to do what they love – work on interesting challenges with our customers.”

In particular, Diggins added that Version 1’s customers would benefit from an increased depth and breadth of expertise in its Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, DevOps and Platform Engineering offerings. Upon completion, after clearance by the National Security and Investment Act 2021, the Automation Logic deal will add 160 staff to Version 1’s ranks.

Founded in 2010, Automation Logic is an IT consultancy specialising in DevOps transformation and delivery. The London-based firm is also partnered with AWS, Microsoft, and a number of other leading cloud providers, enabling the organisation to offer a diverse range of cloud solutions to customers ranging from the Ministry of Justice, to HM Revenue & Customs and Lloyds Banking Group.

Global investment banking firm Alantra advised the shareholders of Automation Logic, on the company’s sale to Version 1 – an experience that led Saxton and Russell to add that they “fully recommend any technology consultancy business considering their options engage with Alantra as it’s been a highly rewarding relationship.” Alantra’s UK Technology team consulted on the deal, including James Chapman-Andrews, Simon Roberts, Sanjit Benawra and Josh Woodage.
