Kantar Public hires Ed Dunn as Senior Director in Population Studies
Kantar Public has appointed Ed Dunn as the Senior Director in Population Studies of its British wing. He will lead the Kantar Public UK offer in large population studies incorporating new technology and approaches.
Craig Watkins, Kantar Public’s UK CEO, said, "I am delighted to welcome Ed to Kantar Public at this exciting time in our growth journey. Ed brings with him deep expertise in social research, and hands on experience of the transformation of social survey research having been at the forefront of innovation over the last 15 years."
Kantar Public commenced independent life earlier in 2022, following a management buyout, backed by Trilantic Europe, earlier in 2022. The company employs more than 700 people in over 20 countries, and is now working to deliver on its next phase of purpose-based growth, with the aim of creating a better public realm.
Ed Dunn joins Kantar Public from the Office for National Statistics where he has held a number of senior roles. These included Head of Social Survey Division, where he led significant transformation in the way ONS conducts social survey research. More recently he also took responsibility for the statistical design and production of the 2021 Census. Prior to that, Dunn was also Deputy Head of the Government Social Research (GSR) service leading and supporting the work of over 2,000 social researchers in Government.
Dunn commented, “I have always been committed to improving public life through evidence and insight and I am privileged and excited to be joining an organisation with that same sense of purpose at its core. I am really looking forward to the journey ahead.”
The population studies field of Kantar Public helps develop and expand insights into key public policy areas. It supports decision makers by providing high quality evidence on which to base decisions and have a real impact on the lives of citizens.
The appointment follows other key appointments at Kantar Public, including the naming of a new Global Chief People Officer. Zarina Ward joined the firm at the end of October 2022, as it sought to strengthen its capabilities by ramping up its headcount.
