New partner John Potts strengthens FRP’s business development team

Specialist advisory firm FRP has continued the recent growth drive of its London team with the appointment of a new Partner. John Potts arrives with over 25 years of experience.

In his new role, Potts will work closely with FRP’s growing restructuring advisory team to seek out new business opportunities and to help develop existing client relationships. In a dual remit, he will also support the firm’s corporate finance and debt advisory teams.

Commenting on his appointment, Potts said, “Having spent most of my career in the financial services sector, I’ve long been aware of FRP and the brilliant work the team does.”

Throughout his career, Potts has advised banks, borrowers and asset-based lenders across the UK’s mid-market. He joins from UK asset recovery specialist Cerberus Receivables Management, where he was a Director. In previous roles, he has also assisted with the business development of financial services entities including HSBC and Duff & Phelps (now known as Kroll).

In his 16 years with Duff & Phelps, Potts played a key role in assisting the restructuring division to successfully grow and deliver market penetration by securing a comprehensive client base. He will draw on this knowhow as he looks to serve FRP seek out new business opportunities and develop existing client relationships.

The appointment comes amid a strong period of growth for FRP. In recent months, the firm has launched new offices in Sunderland, Cambridge, Glasgow, Leigh-on-sea and Southampton in recent months.

Meanwhile, FRP also announced a series of annual appointments at the end of spring, which saw it promote a total of 66 people across a wide range of seniority and specialist roles. This included seven new directors.
