HMRC selects Atos for application testing services in its tax office

Atos UK and Ireland has extended its relationship with Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs. The new four-year contract will see the firm provide Application Testing Services for the tax office.

Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is a non-ministerial department of the UK Government. It is responsible for the collection of taxes, the payment of some forms of state support, the administration of other regulatory regimes including the national minimum wage and the issuance of national insurance numbers.

IT consultancy Atos has a decade-long relationship with HMRC, having worked collaboratively with the UK Government department for over ten years on projects to support HMRC’s response to evolving citizen demands and transform service delivery. At the end of the year, this saw the firm sign a new contract for up to five years, to help the tax organisation continue its digitisation journey.

Now, Atos has added to that with another contract, lasting four years. Together with a number of partners, the deal will see Atos support the critical testing services that underpin HMRC’s core capabilities.

Building HMRC’s test capabilities, Atos will use leading AI and automation to deliver a flexible, responsive and quality testing service. The programme also aims to facilitate the  strategic ambitions of HMRC, including to support wider government economic aims through a resilient, agile tax administration system.
