Business advisory firm BDO has strengthened its tax advisory team with the appointment of Carol Hindle as Partner. Speaking on her move, Hindle noted that the firm will play an important role in the UK’s M&A market, which is “bouncing back to pre-pandemic levels relatively quickly in terms of deal volume.”

Hindle added, “I am delighted to be joining BDO as a partner as the firm continues to grow. Despite the uncertainty and disruption brought on by the pandemic, the M&A market has proved incredibly resilient… making demand for M&A advisers particularly strong.”

With almost $3 trillion in global M&A value recorded since the beginning of the year, the first half of 2021 is the highest half-year on record. Meanwhile, in Europe, two-thirds of business leaders expect M&A activity to rise further in the year ahead.

BDO counts many private equity backed businesses among its clients, and Hindle will now utilise her knowledge to support the firm’s expert tax and advisory teams, working with them. Based in London, she will also work closely with private equity firms, and support a wide range of corporates with the delivery of commercially focused tax strategies across the entire investment cycle.

Arriving at BDO having spent over 30 years in the accounting and finance industry, Hindle spent the last 20 years of her career focusing on advising private equity backed businesses withtransactions and portfolio arrangements. Having spent the bulk of that time with Deloitte, where she was a Partner, Hindle worked with a mid-market private equity house, providing transactional tax support to its portfolio for the last nine months.

Paul Eagland, Managing Partner at BDO, commented, “I am thrilled to be able to welcome Carol to the firm today. This appointment along with our other newly appointed and promoted partners, demonstrates our commitment to investing in our people and the future of the business. The wealth of experience Carol offers will be a huge asset to BDO and help us support the increasingly complex needs and requirements of our clients.”

Since January, BDO has appointed 22 external and 46 internal individuals as partner. Earlier in November, this also saw the arrival of partners Michelle Wilson and Sol Arjol at the firm.
