Professional services firm BDO has continued the expansion of its UK team, with the arrival of partners Michelle Wilson and Sol Arjol. Paul Eagland said that both senior hires “bring a huge amount of experience and knowledge to their respective teams.”

BDO’s Managing Partner added, “It is great to be welcoming Michelle and Sol to the firm… As our clients continue to navigate complex challenges, this investment in highly-skilled people is crucial so that we can continue to provide the highest quality service to our clients during a challenging period for businesses.”

In a further addition to BDO’s tax partnership, Michelle Wilson has joined the firm’s Midlands wing. Arriving as a Tax Partner, she brings two decades of experience to the company, having advised clients on global compliance and reporting throughout her career. Most recently she was with EY, where she was an Associate Partner. She also spent 10 years with Big Four rival Deloitte, where she was a Tax Director.

In a note on her personal LinkedIn page, Wilson said, her time with EY was “a transformative 10 years for me both personally and professionally.” In a second post, she added that arriving as an “equity partner at BDO, leading tax accounting and tax audit services in the UK” made her “very proud and excited to get started.”

Also arriving from EY, Sol Arjol joins BDO’s London team. The new Assurance Partner has more than 20 years of experience in the accounting profession assisting clients with capital markets transactions and ongoing reporting requirements. Prior to her almost-two-decades at EY, Arjol also worked at Deloitte – where she was an Audit Senior.

Speaking on LinkedIn, Arjol stated, “I am starting a new chapter in my professional life. I am joining the Global Offerings & Accounting Advisory Services team of BDO, based in London, where I will be providing tailored accounting advice and IPO assistance to non-audit clients that are planning to issue securities in the European or US Capital markets. I am extremely excited about my new role at BDO and what the future will bring!”

BDO recently promoted 26 partners across its UK business, and since the start of the year, the firm has also announced 21 externally appointed partners. In October, for example, this saw tax specialist Ros Payne join its Thames Valley team.
