English Premier League champions Manchester City have announced a new regional partnership with Tokyo based advisory brand ABeam Consulting. The firm will now provide insights and develop services for the club as its consulting services partner in Japan.

Days before Manchester City commence their defence of their latest Premier League title, the Sky Blues have announced a new signing. Rather than a midfield foil for £100 million playmaker Jack Grealish, or a striker to fill the void left by the departure of Sergio Aguero, however, this is a deal to aid the club in its ventures away from the pitch.

Tokyo headquartered professional services firm ABeam Consulting has been unveiled as the latest member of the Cityzens’ regional partners network. Founded in 2003, the firm provides a diverse range of consulting services to its customers across the world in areas such as enhanced sports team management, marketing, strategic sponsorship and digital technology, which has contributed to corporate transformation and increasing value for its customers. The deal sees ABeam Consulting join the likes of regional partners such as Citibank, Intel, and global partners including Hays and Etihad.

Stephan Cieplik, Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships Sales, City Football Group, said, “We are delighted to launch this partnership with ABeam Consulting… We look forward to working together to share best practice over the course of the partnership which will hopefully prove valuable to ABeam Consulting and their team.”

While it is unlikely to receive a giant blue billboard welcoming it to Manchester, à la Carlos Tevez, ABeam Consulting will be playing an important role for the English wing of the City Football Group’s empire. As City’s official management consulting services partner in Japan, ABeam Consulting will work to share insights, knowledge and experience in a number of areas. As the club looks to grow its fan base in the lucrative Asian market, the consultancy will help develop services and solutions across both organisations, and further grow Manchester City’s presence within Japan.

Speaking on the news, ABeam Consulting CEO Tatsuya Kamoi said, “We trust that this partnership with Manchester City and ABeam Consulting, working for development in sports industry, will be able to create new value by utilising digital technology. We will proceed creating innovative services for digital transformation and customer experience, not only for the sports industry, but also the enterprise side.”
