A&M adds Chris Goodgame as Managing Director in transaction advisory wing
Chris Goodgame has joined the transaction advisory wing of Alvarez & Marsal. As a Managing Director, the UK based expert will focus on building on the expansion of the group across Europe.
Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a multifaceted professional services firm, with over 5,400 staff across four continents. Its Transaction Advisory Group (TAG) is the largest transaction advisory practice outside the Big Four, with global integrated teams helping private equity, hedge fund and corporate acquirers unlock value across the investment lifecycle. It combines the firm’s operational, industry and functional resources, with Big Four-quality financial accounting and tax expertise.
With M&A activity on the rise in Europe’s knowledge economy, A&M has bolstered its TAG arm with the hiring of Chris Goodgame. His arrival marks the latest step in the group’s strategic growth plans in Europe and across the world, following the recent launch of A&M’s Global Transaction Advisory practices in Spain and the Middle East – and as a Managing Director, he will now work to further drive the growth of TAG operations across the continent.
Paul Aversano, Managing Director and Global Practice Leader of A&M’s Global Transaction Advisory Group, said, “Chris’ experience advising clients on complex transactions aligns with our commitment to continuously and seamlessly address the market’s evolving needs. His appointment furthers our ability to help clients maximize value with our global network of boots-on-the ground experts.”
Based in London, Goodgame brings more than 15 years of experience to the role, having worked on over 200 transactions across Europe throughout his career, advising private equity investors on M&A, with a focus on the financial services sector. Most recently this saw Goodgame work as a Partner in Deloitte’s Financial Advisory Services team.
With Deloitte, he led the team providing transaction support to private equity investors in financial services businesses. In the last 18 months, this included assessing banking institutions in Britain, France and Greece, insurance underwriters in Italy and Ireland, and FinTech and broking businesses.
David Evans, Managing Director and European Practice Leader of A&M’s Global Transaction Advisory Group, added, “Our substantial growth over the past twelve months is testament to the significant deal flow across Europe in conjunction with A&M’s operational heritage, and leadership, action, results approach. Chris’s decision to join us further validates our status as the scaled pan-European and global alternative to the Big Four for Transaction Advisory Services and provides our clients with access to additional deep sector experience in the financial services sector.”
