Iridium fuels expansion with resource specialist hires
Digital transformation advisory Iridium has welcomed two new starters to support its rapid expansion plans. Tom Doherty has been named as Resource Coordinator, while Ian Wilson arrives as Talent Solutions Specialist.
Headquartered in Leeds, boutique consultancy Iridium specialises in digital transformation work. The firm’s team combines more than four decades of experience across business transformation and cyber security. At the turn of the year, the firm reported it had enjoyed a 50% expansion of its client base, driven by the need for IT services in support of remote working.
Iridium offers a hybrid working solution for its 10-strong team members, providing the choice and the infrastructure for each employee to work remotely or in a socially distanced manner at the office. It is a model which means it is well positioned to advice clients on their own working models – as many firms are still looking to deploy remote working for their staff in some capacity even after the national lockdown recedes.
As a result, Iridium has continued to perform strongly. In order to meet the demand of clients at this time, the firm has announced the arrival of two new starters, who will support the smooth running of its expanding business.
Ian Wilson arrives as Talent Solutions Specialist, with a ten-year history working in technical support and recruitment. This has seen him take roles with Sky, Plusnet and, most recently, IT recruitment specialist firm, The Bridge, bringing a wealth of key experience that’s directly transferable to the specific needs of Iridium’s clients and consultants. His new role will see him identify and recruit specialist talent and acting as the liaison point between Iridium and its extensive associate community.
Reflecting on the appointment, Wilson said, “My passions lie in IT and people, so this role is perfect for my skills and experience. Iridium is well known for its personal touch, which I believe is critical as businesses increasingly look to fill skills gaps on their teams with handpicked talent. A true empathy with client and consultant is what’s needed to make a successful match, and I’m excited to be part of a business that does things a little bit differently.”
Tom Doherty further strengthens Iridium’s recruitment arm, meanwhile. The graduate joins Iridium as Resource Coordinator to provide administrative support to the team and ensure the selection process is both seamless for both hiring managers and candidates.
Speaking on the new hires, Iridium Co-founder and Director, Ben Dainton, added, “The demand for IT talent is at an all-time high, which has seen the size of our team more than double in the last twelve months. This is all well and good, but it’s important to us to retain quality and nurture new talent. Ian and Tom have come in at very different levels, but they both fit the Iridium mould of energy, tenacity and ambition, and are very welcome additions to our team.”
