Baker Tilly buys Brentwood based Employer Services
Accounting and consulting firm Baker Tilly has acquired Employer Services, a Brentwood based payroll, HR solutions and business services firm. All forty-five employees of Employer Services will transfer to Baker Tilly.
With almost 3,500 partners and staff generating a fee income of over £300 million, Baker Tilly is one of the 10 largest accounting and consulting firms in the UK, a position which it also holds globally.
Yesterday the firm unveiled it has purchased payroll specialist Employer Services. All forty-five employees of the business, based in Brentwood, Essex, will join Baker Tilly, with Managing Director Stuart Hall taking on a consulting role within the firm. The deal will complement Baker Tilly’s employer solutions offering, as well as enhance its existing outsourced payroll service, adding both online and managed (international) payroll services and solutions to its portfolio. “Employer Services is highly regarded within its sector and I am delighted to welcome them to Baker Tilly. This merger will allow us to expand our payroll service to the market while providing Employer Services with greater resource and new opportunities to enhance its current offering,” says Mark Holland, Business Services Partner for Baker Tilly.

For Baker Tilly UK, the deal represents the second transaction in the past months – in July the business advisory acquired Outperform UK, a specialist in the areas of project, programme and portfolio management. Internationally the firm recently added more than 200 professionals in Italy, while the US country organisation will effective 1 November merge with SF&Company, a move which will add more than 100 employees across offices in York, Harrisburg and State College.
On the 26th of October Baker Tilly UK will rebrand to RSM, in line with the network’s strategy to harmonise the brand name of all its member firms worldwide.
