As specialist consulting firm Red Badger looks to continue building on its growth over its first nine years in business, the firm has appointed Boel Ferguson as a Board Advisor. Ferguson arrives with more than 30 years of media, marketing and acquisitions experience – having spent the last decade with Disney.

Commenting on her new role, Boel Ferguson said, “I’m looking forward to working with a business that is at the forefront of business transformation and digital innovation, and using my experience to help Red Badger scale sustainably while maintaining culture and quality of the service.”

Red Badger is a digital transformation and technology consultancy focused on clients in the retail, media and financial services sectors. At Red Badger, Ferguson’s remit will include working alongside the Executive Board members on governance and future planning for the growth of the business. She joins the existing company board which includes Red Badger’s Chief Executive Officer Cain Ullah, Chief Operations Officer David Wynne, Chief Scientist Stuart Harris, and Non-Executive Director Mike Altendorf.

Speaking on Ferguson’s arrival, CEO Ullah stated, “I’m very excited to welcome Boel into Red Badger’s Executive Board. She’s an incredibly inspiring leader and brings a wealth of knowledge from her experience at Disney. She’s a great addition to our business and brings cognitive diversity and more gender balance at executive board level. I’m looking forward to working alongside and learning from her.”

According to a release from Red Badger, the firm worked with Inclusive Boards – a UK executive search agency specialising in diversity and inclusion at the governance level – for the search of this role, before hiring Ferguson. She arrives two years after exiting her last business role as Vice President & General Manager of Disney Interactive EMEA and UK, having been responsible for the division that creates consumer touch-points across handheld devices, desktops and games consoles across EMEA.

Prior to taking that, Ferguson led Disney’s successful children and family television channels in the UK. She also formerly held senior roles with Jetix Europe, TCC Nordic/Flextech, TV4 Sweden, and MTV3 Finland.

Earlier in 2020, Red Badger also appointed two high-profile experts in the field of gender balance and purpose-led business practice to join its advisory board. Avivah Wittenberg-Cox and Manny Amadi work with the leadership team to build and expand on Red Badger’s strategic capabilities.
