Manchester-based global employment law consultancy Peninsula has raised over £200,000 for Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Charity. The news comes almost a year after the consultancy announced a new three-year charity partnership with the children’s health group.

Established in 1983, The Peninsula Group provides professional services to small businesses across the UK. Initially specialising in consulting on employment law, the company has since expanded to provide services including tax and payroll advice, employee assistance programmes, and HR and health & safety training. Through organic growth and acquisitions, Peninsula has also moved beyond the borders of the UK, and now provides this offering to small businesses in Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

In March 2019, the firm announced a new three-year charity partnership with the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity. The hospital treats more than 270,000 patients every year – covering children from all over the North West of England, as well as other parts of the country for highly specialist treatments, and its charity provides resources to make a difficult time easier for children and their families who use the hospital.Peninsula raises over £200,000 for children's hospital charity

The early work done for Peninsula on behalf of Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity has focused on raising £1 million for its iMRI Scanner Appeal. The appeal aims to raise £5 million overall to purchase a new intra-operative MRI (iMRI) scanning suite that will revolutionise brain surgery at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

Lucy Tunn, the Charity’s Corporate Fundraising Executive, said, “The whole Peninsula family have been enthusiastic supporters and it has been a pleasure working with them on this partnership. Staff have got involved in a broad range of events and fundraising activities and it’s all added up to a fantastic figure. We can’t wait to see what exciting things they get up to next!”

In the last year, Peninsula has built up a strong bond with Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity, and employees have already raised thousands through ambitious fundraising activities such as the Great Manchester Run, abseiling a 200 foot building and even a trek up Mount Kilimanjaro. Funds have also been raised through payroll deductions which have been matched pound for pound in corporate donations. As a result, the firm has already raised over £200,000 for Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Charity.

Peter Done, founder and Group Managing Director of Peninsula, said, "We are delighted with our fundraising efforts across the business so far, with Peninsula employees making a real effort to raise an incredible amount of money for Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Charity. To raise the ambitious target of £1 million, we will continue to engage in multiple fundraising activities. Highlights for 2020 include, Peninsula employees taking part in the Tour de Manc, the Manchester Marathon and a RMCH Charity quiz night.”
