Wayne Jephson joins Alvarez & Marsal in London office
Alvarez & Marsal has appointed a new Managing Director in its transaction advisory practice. Wayne Jephson will work from the firm’s London office to expand the practice’s UK and regional client base.
Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) boasts the largest transaction advisory practice outside the Big Four, with integrated teams helping private equity, hedge fund and corporate acquirers increase the value of their portfolio companies to their shareholders across the investment lifecycle. According to the firm, the practice combines its operational, industry and functional resources with Big Four-quality financial accounting and tax expertise to assess key deal drivers and focus on the root cause of any critical deal issues.
As the firm looks to strengthen its global transaction advisory group, it has appointed Wayne Jephson, a senior infrastructure specialist, as a London-based Managing Director. He brings 18 years of experience in financial due diligence, with a specific focus on infrastructure and private equity transactions, and has worked with corporate, private equity, infrastructure fund and pension fund clients on buy-side, sell-side, refinancing and IPO transactions.

Prior to joining A&M, Jephson spent 22 years with EY, the last 18 of which were within the Transaction Diligence team where he most recently served as a Director within its Infrastructure Transactions Group. Throughout his career, he has undertaken in excess of 100 infrastructure transactions across various investment classes from utilities and renewables to transport and telecommunications in the UK, Europe and Africa. Jephson is a Chartered Accountant, and holds a degree in Law and Business Studies from Birmingham University.
He will now focus on providing full asset life-cycle advice to infrastructure investors, working with other A&M teams in areas such as valuations, performance improvement and debt advisory. He will collaborate with A&M’s Transaction Advisory Group Managing Directors Paul Aversano, Global Practice Leader and David Evans, the Practice’s European Leader, along with Managing Director Jason Clatworthy, to continue to grow the business in the UK regions and in international markets.
