Odgers Interim is celebrating its 20th year in business with what looks to be record levels of revenue growth. As the firm celebrates its twin-milestone, Odgers Interim has announced it will host a series of free workshops, aimed at providing interim managers with the tools to succeed in the UK’s burgeoning freelance economy.

Interim management is now an integral aspect of the UK’s economic vitality, providing expert services via the country’s growing pool of independent professional workers, plugging skills gaps and meeting the demand for greater business agility. A growing part of that is the independent scene, amid the UK’s booming gig economy. The country now plays home to an estimated 5 million self-employed people, while the professional services sector is a major driver of growth in this area in particular, with the number of freelance workers in Britain having reached 2 million since 2001.

Launched in 1999 as the interim management wing of executive search firm Odgers Berndtson, Odgers Interim is a global provider of interim management services, drawing on two decades of experience in c-suite and director-level interim placements. The firm’s 26 consultants advise public and commercial organisations across 24 different sectors. In the last six months, the firm has seen an explosive demand for senior executives on a part-time basis, particularly in the fields of local and national government, and in the last year, the firm has enjoyed explosive demand for senior executives on a part-time basis.Odgers Interim offers free workshops amid record results

As the company prepares to place its 4000th interim into a senior leadership or change management role this year, it expects to report a record turnover of £50 million for the financial year 18/19, and has achieved 20% annual growth amidst exceptional demand for senior interim managers and leaders. In celebration of this, Odgers Interim has announced the launch of free interim management workshops as a commitment to developing the next generation of interims and to drive diversity in the professional ‘gig-economy’ workforce.

Odgers Interim is providing the workshops free of charge, as it looks to help develop the next generation of the UK’s interim leadership talent. Tailored to servicing the public, not-for-profit and commercial sectors, the workshops will equip early-stage interims with the necessary skills for a successful interim career. As well as offering training and guidance to early-stage interims, the workshops will also help drive diversity in the independent workforce by emphasising the importance of female senior executives, as well as those with disabilities, and from LGBT+ and BAME backgrounds.

Commenting on the news, Grant Speed, Managing Director of Odgers Interim, said, “These workshops are our way of giving back to the community which has been so instrumental in helping us reach the 20 year milestone in such robust health. They will also help us drive our agenda of creating a truly diverse interim workforce by mobilising more female senior executives, as well as those with disabilities, who are LGBTQ or from BAME backgrounds.”
