Trio of consultants join Baines Simmons
As aviation consultancy Baines Simmons looks to strengthen its expertise in the sector, it has hired three new consultants to its UK team. Gareth Dore, Robert Chapman and Steve Dosman have joined the firm, which is owned by professional services group Air Partner.
Aviation safety consulting firm Baines Simmons specialises in aviation regulation, compliance and safety management. The firm is part of the Training & Consultancy division of global aviation services group Air Partner, and has been growing its team throughout the last year, with a string of hires in 2018.
Continuing its headcount growth into 2019, Baines Simmons announced in February that it would appoint Steve Hough as a Senior Consultant, while Ludo Forrer and Ferdi Taljaard were appointed Associate Consultants. Three months later, Baines Simmons has extended this recruitment drive with another trio of consulting hires. The firm has welcomed Steve Dosman, Robert Chapman and Gareth Dore to the team, all of whom will be reporting directly to Mike Wallace, Head of Operations.
Steve Dosman has arrived at Baines Simmons as an Initial Airworthiness Consultant, and will provide training and consulting services to the aviation industry. Dosman, who will also remain a Consultant at AV8R Consulting, is an experienced design engineer with over 23 years' experience at a large DOA/DAOS Design Organisation. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a Chartered Engineer, and holds a first-class degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Robert Chapman obtained a PhD in Risk Management from the University of Reading in 1998, and has since specialised in risk management for over 25 years, working with a broad spectrum of industries across eight countries on multi-billion-dollar infrastructure developments. He is an elected a fellow of the Institute of Risk Management, Institute of Commercial Management and Association for Project Managers. Chapman will deliver training and consulting services in relation to the safety risk segment of the Baines Simmons portfolio.
Gareth Dore is a former RAF Search and Rescue Pilot, and joins Baines Simmons’ STEP programme training, delivering Error Management and Investigation type courses. Having been involved in safety roles throughout his career – including appointments as Unit Flight Safety Officer, Flight Authoriser, Flight Supervisor, and Human Factors Facilitator for the RAF – he also holds a degree in Information Management from Nottingham Trent University.
