Fergus Allan joins Regulation & Compliance practice of Tori Global
Fergus Allan has been appointed as the new Head of Regulation and Compliance at UK headquartered Tori Global. Allan will lead the team at the consultancy dedicated to helping clients with regulatory changes, and providing training for companies looking to improve their compliance.
Tori Global was established in London in 2002, and has since spread into offices in Singapore, New York, Dubai and the Nordics. The firm caters to the needs of clients in the US and Australia, as well as domestic customers from the company’s City of London headquarters, which it first occupied as of 2016. The group has been undergoing a period of expansion for the past two years, and 2017 saw them take on a host of new talent.
Now, as Tori prepares for a busy 2019, the firm is looking to further support its client base in the banking, wealth management and insurance sectors with the appointment of another new member to the team. Fergus Allan has arrived at Tori as Head of Regulation and Compliance, bringing with him more than 20 years of professional experience, and having worked at two of the Big Four.
Most recently, Allan was a Managing Partner with Duff & Phelps, where he spent the past year in the firm’s London office. Prior to this, he held the position of Director of Risk and Operational Excellence at PwC, where he worked for four years. Before spells with Navigant and Huntswood Consulting, he also spent more than a year as a Senior Manager in Financial Services Advisory with KPMG’s UK wing. Allan also counts Marsh and the Financial Services Authority among his previous employers.
Experienced as a compliance, risk and change leader, with a proven track record of helping clients solve complex regulatory issues, Allan will now oversee Tori’s regulation & compliance practice in the UK. The team currently helps clients with regulatory implementation, health checks, remediation, governance and training.
A statement from the firm commented on the hiring, “Fergus has worked as a regulator, as a compliance leader and as a consultant to Financial Services clients for over 20 years, so his starting point is always: 'How do we solve this problem whilst keeping business outcomes, customer outcomes and regulatory outcomes in balance?' He is a pragmatic advisor, with the ability to quickly identify root causes and help shape sensible and lasting solutions.”
