David Villar and Nick Sumner join R&G Global Consultants UK
International professional services group R&G Global Consultants has added two new senior members to its London team. David Villar has taken on the role of Senior Consultant, while Nick Sumner assumes the position of Business Development Manager.
Supply chains represent a key aspect of business performance, and as digital disruption continues to creep into every industry, many businesses and their customers and clients are upping their transformation efforts involving their supply chains. As a growing number of supply chain leaders look to up their digitisation, demand for consulting in the sector is growing, with consulting firms working to position themselves to benefit from this glut in work.
R&G Global Consultants, a boutique management consultancy that specialises in supply chain and operations, has been working consistently to grow its global footprint in recent years. Founded in 2004, the international firm has since opened new offices in Sao Paulo and Bangkok, and Copenhagen, among others, in a bid to improve its services to clients, of which the majority are corporates and multinationals.
The Netherlands headquartered company, which was founded by Dutchman Piet van Abeelen and Frenchman Christian Mertz, also boasts a rapidly expanding UK team. Most recently, the consultancy has welcomed two senior members to its London office. David Villar has arrived as a Senior Consultant, and will be helping clients in project execution, while Nick Sumner has joined as a Business Development Manager, and will boost support of the firm’s expanding network.
David Villar has most recently been employed by car rental conglomerate Hertz, where he has spent four years, latterly working as a Strategic Project Manager, a role he maintains alongside his new position at R&G. During this time, he also picked up valuable experience as a consultant manager, leading business turnarounds projects in several corporate and franchised countries across the globe. Prior to this, Villar worked as a Quality & Operations Manager for Allegion from 2012, leaving the firm after two years. He holds a Mechanical Engineer ICAI in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas.
Nick Sumner was previously a member of Complete Lean Solutions, where he held the position of Head of Business Development & Marketing. During his two year stay with the business improvement specialist, Sumner worked with companies to companies remove waste from businesses via direct support, coaching or training. Prior to this, Sumner held a succession of marketing roles in the press industry, including a five year spell with regional newspaper magnate Archant, working as a Group Sales Manager and later a Sales Director with the group’s Life WeddingLink off-shoot.
