Most popular consultancies for students & graduates

24 February 2015 Consultancy.uk

On Wednesday the 1st of April career platform TARGETjobs will host the 2015 edition of the ‘National Graduate Recruitment Awards’. In the management consulting category, nine consulting firms have been shortlisted. The key question: who will succeed McKinsey & Company’s as the UK’s most popular consultancy for students and graduates?

Every year TARGETjobs, a career and job platform for school leavers and (under)graduates, organises the National Graduate Recruitment Awards. In total 28 fiercely competed for awards – across five areas* – will be distributed on the night, held April 1st in Grosvenor House, London. The majority of awards are based entirely on votes from students, with the views of more than 100,000 students, undergraduates, apprentices and school-leavers captured this year.

The Sector Awards category contains fourteen disciplines, including consulting. This year, nine consulting firms have been shortlisted, recognised by students as the ideal place to start their career. The list of nominated consultancies includes strategy consulting players such as McKinsey & Company (winner of 2014 edition), Boston Consulting Group and Bain & Company, and the consulting practices of large advisory and technology players such as Accenture, Capgemini and IBM. Other firms shortlisted are Mercer, the sole representative from the HR landscape, management and technology expert PA Consulting Group and CHP Consulting, a software implementation partner with a focus on the asset finance market.

Popular?
Last year The Times conducted a similar research into the most popular and prestigious employers in the eyes of UK graduates. The so-called ‘Top 100 Graduate Employers’ ranking included 12 consulting firms, of which five correspond with TARGETjobs’ list. More recently Glassdoor unveiled the result of its best workplaces in the country – the research included five firms active in the consulting industry.
