CGI & Hitachi Data Systems to provide cloud services
Consulting firm CGI and Hitachi Data systems have partnered up to provide enterprise-grade cloud services. The cloud services that are powered by Hitachi will be hosted within CGI’s data centres and provide its clients with secure access to business data.
Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), subsidiary of Hitachi, is a provider of information technologies, services and solutions that help companies improve IT costs and agility, and innovate. The firm is, among others, specialised in storage solutions, cloud infrastructure, content mobility and business defined IT.
In order to better service its clients, information technology and business process services firm CGI has decided to partner up with HDS to launch a suite of secure, private and hybrid cloud services. “Our partnership with Hitachi Data Systems helps clients achieve their goals to transform enterprise processes by facilitating secure access to business information,” explains Brian Cann, Vice-President Global Marketing at CGI.
As a result of the partnership, the consulting firm will be able to provide its clients with HDS-powered enterprise-grade cloud services that can be hosted within its global data centres or in a customer’s data centre in a private cloud model. This provides clients with flexible and secure access to business critical data from mobile devices and traditional desktops. The initial technologies that will be launched include: storage, data vaulting, disaster recovery, archiving, and file sync and share. “Leading technology from Hitachi allows us to deliver a variety of business solutions through a cloud delivery model that meets the procurement needs of our clients. It’s this integrated approach that makes the CGI and Hitachi Data Systems global partnership a win-win for clients,” comments Cann.
