Raymond James hires Hinkens and Egli as Managing Directors
Raymond James has confirmed former KPMG employee Konrad Hinkens as a Managing Director in its Germany operation, along with Steve Egli, appointed to the same role in the firm’s San Francisco outfit.
Konrad Hinkens has joined Raymond James from KPMG, where here worked in the firm’s Deal Advisory practice, where he built up its M&A life sciences practice from 2011. Joining the firm’s executive team in Germany as a Managing Director, he will work in the professional service group’s Global Healthcare Investment Banking team.
Commenting on the appointment, Melville Mummert, Head of European Investment Banking at Raymond James, said, “Konrad Hinkens has demonstrated his expertise in the sector with a track record of successful sell-side and buy-side mandates. He will focus on cross-border M&A for healthcare services, pharma, medical technology and life sciences clients”.
The firm has also picked up Steve Egli, who joins the firm’s Financial Services Investment Banking practice as a Managing Director, based out of its San Francisco operation. He previously worked at Sandler O'Neill, in his more recent role as a Managing Director – his career at the firm began in 2004. Egli brings a range of financial services advisory expertise to Raymond James, strengthening its M&A transactions and equity offering with extensive expertise for depository institutions across the country, while holding a Bachelors Degree in finance and economics from Utah State University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
“Since the [2016 US Presidential] election, we’ve seen a significant increase in M&A activity and equity issuances for banks,” Jim Bunn, Head of Investment Banking at Raymond James said. He concluded, “Steven’s experience will be valuable to clients who are looking to capitalize on these market conditions and an asset to the firm as we continue to grow our advisory and underwriting services in the financial sector.”
“The service and capabilities that Raymond James offers clients paired with the extensive experience of its senior bankers is one of a kind,” Egli himself remarked. “It’s a pleasure to join this dedicated team of banking professionals who are committed to getting results for clients.”
