BCG places Amy Tsui Luke at helm of Expand Research North America
BCG has placed financial services expert Amy Tsui Luke at the helm of Expand Research's North American operations. In her role as CEO Luke will be charged with expanding the firm's research and benchmarking portfolio across financial institutions in North American operations. She will be based in New York.
Prior to joining The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in 2015 as a Managing Director, Amy Tsui Luke worked at Accenture where she was a Partner and Managing Director in Accenture’s Capital Markets practice. In the role, Luke served several major accounts with a focus on management consulting services, and also led Accenture’s strategic business development for the New York Metro area.
Luke began her career as an investment banker at CS First Boston before becoming a consultant in BCG’s Boston and New York offices. She also served on the management team of Forbes. Most recently at BCG, Luke was a Managing Director at BCG Platinion*, another BCG subsidiary, which provides technology architecture, implementation, digital, and risk services.
In addition to her work in the consulting industry, Luke serves on the board of directors of the Harvard Business School Women’s Association of Greater New York, Komen for the Cure of Greater New York, the Harvard Kennedy School Women’s Leadership Board, and Global Citizens Initiative.
Luke holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Wellesley College and a Master of Business Administration in General Management from the Harvard Business School.
In her new role at the helm of Expand Research, she will lead the firm's North American operations from the base in New York and has been charged with accelerating growth. Expand Research provides executive teams in the financial services industry with strategic insights into the business, operations and technology performance of their organisation, as well as benchmarking services. The London-headquartered firm was partly acquired by BCG in 2011, before becoming fully owned by the consultancy in 2015.
Charles Teschner, leader of BCG’s North America Capital Markets practice, says that the firm is “delighted” to have Amy on board as Expand’s new North American CEO. Teschner adds, “She brings deep financial services knowledge and valuable management experience, both of which will be critical to accelerating Expand’s growth. Her long history with BCG also will ensure that we serve our clients seamlessly across all of BCG’s entities and capabilities.”
On her new appointment Luke says, “Having started my career at BCG over 20 years ago, it has been exciting to witness the firm’s tremendous growth and expansion into more specialised areas. I am energised by the potential of the Expand platform to help our financial services clients understand their competitive performance and drive greater profitability, especially during these unprecedented market challenges.”
* BCG Platinion is the BCG's wholly owned Technology Strategy Operation subsidiary. It was founded in Germany in 2000 and today has further offices in Italy and the US. Earlier this month BCG Platinion expanded into Canada.
