Stacy Brown named CEO of US-based Willis Programs
Stacy Brown has taken on the role of President and CEO of the Willis Towers Watson’s US-based Willis Programs business. Brown will be responsible for expanding the business’ portfolio of insurance programmes in response to changes within the wider market.
Stacy Brown is currently the President of Freberg Environmental, a wholly owned subsidiary of Willis Towers Watson. Brown joined the firm in 1998, following a more than eight year stint at Dames & Moore, where, in his last role, he was a Project Manager. Brown holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Marist College and a Master of Business Administration in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Brown has been appointed as the President and CEO of the Willis Towers Watson’s Willis Programs, the firm’s programme administration business. The business provides a range of services across the US, including underwriting, claims management and loss control services which reaches more than 4,000 independent agents and brokers. The new role will see Brown responsible for further expanding the business’ portfolio of insurance programmes in response to changes within the wider, and ever more digital, market place.
Brown will report to the Willis Towers Watson’s National Partner and 27 year veteran of the firm, Tom Coughlin, and will be based in Denver, Colorado. Brown will continue in his role as President of Freberg Environmental. Commenting on the appointment, Tom Coughlin says that the firm is “thrilled” about Brown taking leadership of the Willis Programs business. He adds that Brown will “build on the success we have established in the marketplace. He brings tremendous credibility and deep industry experience to this role.”
Brown comments “We are committed to serving our client’s unique insurance needs and I see many opportunities to grow and develop new programmes in a dynamic marketplace. I look forward to building on the legacy and brand of our insurance solutions, including our portfolio of highly successful “Guard” programmes including MountainGuard, LawyerGuard and DroneGuard, while we continue to evolve other unique offerings including the Smith, Bell & Thompson and Freberg Environmental programmes.”
