KPMG senior partner Andrew Vials joins Grant Thornton
Accounting and consulting firm Grant Thornton has appointed Andrew Vials as the new Head of its National Assurance Services (NAS) practice. Vials joins from counterpart KPMG, where he spent the past 28 years, in his last role as Senior Partner.
Andrew Vials is a veteran in the professional service industry. He joined KPMG in 1985, and over the past years fulfilled several management roles. For the last ten years Vials served as Senior Technical Partner, prior to that he was an Audit Partner at the Financial Services Practice of the Big 4 firm. Between 2007 to 2013 he also served as a member of the IASB's IFRS Interpretations Committee. Vials has a Bachelor degree in Law from the University College London.
As of the 1st of July Vials has decided to exchange KPMG for rival Grant Thornton, where he has been appointed as the new head of its so-called National Assurance Services (NAS) practice. Based in Grant Thornton's Euston office he will lead a team of approximately 35 people providing technical support and advice on financial and corporate reporting issues to all of the firm's service lines.
