Leigh Bates joins PwC FS as Director Data Analytics

PwC has appointed Leigh Bates as a Director Data Analytics in its Financial Services Risk and Regulation (FSRR) team. Bates joins from SAS Institute, where he worked for the past 15 years.

Leigh Bates has over 18 years’ experience in data related services, holding many senior roles within SAS. During his spell at SAS (1999 – 2014) he advised a wide range of financial services clients, including HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Barclays, UBS and Credit Suisse. In his last role Bates led both the capital markets and banking risk business units.

In his new role at PwC, Bates will focus on leading the business development team within the firms’s banking and capital markets Advanced Risk and Compliance Analytics (ARCA) practice. He will also develop innovative, effective data analytics to meet the increasing regulatory demands on data and risk aggregation, as well as seeking to align data propositions with regulatory developments in the banking and capital markets sectors.
