Alpha FMC names Mark Wightman partner in asset management team
Mark Wightman has joined Alpha FMC as a senior partner. He joins in the consulting division, as the firm looks to strengthen its capacity across international markets.
Commenting on his appointment, Wightman said, “I’m excited to be joining Alpha at this stage of their global growth as the next five years will bring more change than the last twenty, as geopolitics, AI & quantum transform how asset & wealth management firms do business. Alpha brings industry depth, scale and agility which are critical enablers to client success.”
Founded in 2003, Alpha FMC now has over 1,500 consultants across North America, the UK, Europe, MENA and APAC. Alpha has been supported by investment partner Bridgepoint, one of the world’s leading quoted private asset growth investors, since 2024. This has supported the firm investing heavily to strengthen its offering across all leading platforms and service providers. This includes developing tools that build on its existing accelerators to drive efficiency for both platforms and end clients, as well as purchasing firms such as JPSB.
Wightman joins with more than 30 years’ experience spanning financial services, consulting, fintech and technology-enabled transformation, most recently in senior leadership roles at State Street and EY. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions in financial technology, including at SunGard (FIS).
In his new role, Wightman will focus on strengthening Alpha FMC’s global client relationships and supporting the continued growth of its international asset and wealth management consulting business, with a particular focus on the UK, Middle East and Asia Pacific.
Chris Kroeger, head of international asset and wealth management at Alpha FMC, added, “We are delighted to welcome Mark to Alpha. His industry pedigree, international experience and depth of client relationships make him a fantastic addition to the business. We look forward to bringing his expertise to bear for our clients and further strengthening our go-to-market capability across the UK, Middle East and particularly Asia Pacific, where we are growing rapidly.”
