Steph Baker promoted to partner in Grant Thornton’s North West practice
Steph Baker has been promoted to partner at Grant Thornton. The news reflects the firm’s continued investment of the firm and strengthening its capabilities across the North West and national practice.

With more than 500 professionals across its Manchester and Liverpool offices, Grant Thornton‘s North West team remains a priority growth market for the firm, and according to a release from the firm, Baker’s appointment reflects continued investment in leadership capability across the region.
Based in Manchester, Baker joined Grant Thornton in 2017 and has over 20 years’ experience supporting corporates, lenders and key stakeholders to navigate financial challenge and complexity across all stages of a business lifecycle. As a restructuring adviser and licensed insolvency practitioner, her expertise spans a range of sectors including manufacturing, automotive and business support services, advising clients from strategic options through to complex, multi-stakeholder transactions.

The news comes as part of Grant Thornton’s wider UK partnership expansion programme, which has added 84 new partners between January and June 2026, as the firm works towards a target of 160 by the end of 2027. The programme, backed by the firm’s investment partnership with Cinven, continues to combine internal promotions with senior hires from across the market.
