Business Rescue Expert welcomes Gareth Hunt as insolvency practitioner

Business Rescue Expert has added Gareth Hunt to its Manchester office. Arriving as an insolvency practitioner, he joins amid growing activity across sectors including construction, hospitality, retail and recruitment.

Managing director Kevin Pinkerton said, “Gareth has impressive technical skills and an excellent approach to dealing with cases in a manner which ensures the best outcomes for clients. He brings a wealth of experience at a senior level and is a great addition to the team. We’re confident he will make a strong contribution to the practice and enhance our ability to attract new business.”

Arriving from RPG, where he was head of business recovery, Hunt brings more than 20 years’ experience in the debt advisory and insolvency sector to Business Rescue Expert. He has previously handled corporate and personal insolvency cases and advisory assignments across a range of industries, including retail, hospitality, construction, waste management and healthcare.

His appointment supports Business Rescue Expert’s expansion following the launch of its Manchester office last autumn. The firm, which has its headquarters in Darlington, is an independent practice specialising in creditors’ and members’ voluntary liquidations, rescues via company voluntary arrangements, administrations, individual voluntary arrangements, bankruptcies, Time to Pay agreements with HMRC and winding-up petitions.

BRE founder and chief executive Eamonn Wall said further recruitment is planned for the Manchester office. Remarking that the firm “expanding rapidly in the north west” means that there will be “more appointments in the coming months,” he added the company is seeing “a lot of activity in sectors such as hospitality, construction, retail and recruitment as global economic factors continue to put pressure on businesses.”

Earlier this year, BRE also added to its range of services with the launch of turnaround and restructuring expert, which supports SMEs under pressure to navigate their challenges, with a focus on protecting jobs and avoiding formal insolvency. In his role at BRE, Hunt will now handle corporate matters including CVAs, liquidations and administrations, personal bankruptcies, as well as providing turnaround and restructuring advice.
