Emily Richardson joins Rural Solutions as consultant
Specialist rural land practice Rural Solutions has appointed Emily Richardson as consultant in its rural consultancy team. She will support clients with their diversification of their rural land and assets.
Founded in 1995, Rural Solutions is a bespoke professional practice specialising in rural land and property. Its mission is to work with owners and managers of rural land and property to help them with strategy, planning, design, management and development. Operating nationally from headquarters in North Yorkshire, the firm’s team includes consultants, planners, property development professionals, architects, landscape architects, analysts and researchers.
Emily Richardson joins Rural Solutions from her previous role as rural surveyor and national tourism advisor at the Country Land and Business Association (CLA), where she advised rural businesses on planning, diversification and rural tourism policy. As part of her role with the CLA, Richardson worked as the lead on national rural tourism liaising with other stakeholder groups to influence policies impacting the tourism industry.
Sally Ormiston, director at Rural Solutions, said, "Emily’s experience, working for a national organisation within the rural land sector, will be an asset to our nationwide client base at a time when strategic advice is more crucial than ever amid an evolving rural development landscape. Our team continues to grow as we respond to client demand for advice on the diversification of rural estates and assets."
In her new role, based in Rural Solution’s head office in Skipton, Richardson will be working with the wider rural consultancy team to advise clients across the UK on their options for development and diversification of their rural land and property assets. In the consulting team, she will be working alongside associate directors Emily Leader, Nicky Witchell and Rich Mills.
"This role is a natural progression for me and will enable me to utilise the experience I gained in my former position advising CLA members across the country," Richardson added. "Back in 2023, I undertook a week’s work experience with the Rural Solutions team, gaining an early appreciation of the organisation’s strong team ethos and pragmatic approach to rural consultancy. I am delighted to now be returning to the business as a Consultant."
