FRP appoints Emma Thompson as partner in restructuring practice
FRP Advisory has appointed Emma Thompson as a partner specialising in restructuring and recovery. The move strengthens its contentious insolvency, asset recovery and enforcement advisory capabilities both in the UK and overseas.
Thompson commented, “FRP has a strong reputation for the quality of its work and complexity of the mandates it advises on. The business has real momentum, and joining as a Partner is the start of a new and exciting stage in my career. Businesses are facing sustained pressure from geopolitical instability, rising costs and weaker consumer spending, and that is creating a more challenging restructuring environment. We will continue to see situations where assets, claims and enforcement issues cross borders. I’m looking forward to working with colleagues across FRP to help clients unlock value.”
She joins FRP with more than 20 years’ experience advising businesses, lenders, creditors and stakeholders on complex insolvency and recovery matters. She began her career in banking, before moving into insolvency and qualifying as both an accountant and insolvency practitioner. Thompson’s experience includes asset tracing, investigating potential misfeasance, breach of duty, negligence and other creditor recovery actions, with a particular focus on identifying, preserving and recovering value in complex situations.
Jeremy French, COO at FRP, added, “Emma’s appointment is an important step in the continued growth of our restructuring and recovery practice. Her expertise in contentious insolvency, asset recovery and cross-border enforcement deepens our ability to support clients on complex assignments at a time when demand for specialist advice continues to grow. Her arrival reflects our strategy of investing in high-calibre senior talent who can broaden our capabilities, strengthen our leadership and support the continued growth of the business. Emma brings technical expertise, strong market relationships and a clear understanding of the issues clients are facing, and we are pleased to welcome her to FRP.”
