Steve Culp succeeds Renny Borhan as CEO of HKA
Disputes and litigation consultancy HKA has announced the appointment of Steve Culp as its new CEO. The move comes as part of a planned leadership transition, which sees former CEO and co-founder Renny Borhan become a non-executive strategic advisor with the firm.
Alan Whitman, chair of HKA, said, “Renny has made an exceptional contribution to HKA and has helped build a firm of real strength, quality, and international standing. We are delighted to welcome Steve as chief executive officer. He brings significant leadership experience and a clear focus on people, clients, and growth.”
Culp assumed the position from the 22nd of June. He brings 30 years of strategy, finance and risk management to HKA, as well as senior leadership experience from Accenture, where he served as senior managing director and global risk lead. He has worked extensively across the US, Europe and Asia and is known for his focus on people, strong teams, and client service.
“HKA is a distinctive business with a strong reputation, exceptional people, and significant opportunity ahead,” Culp commented. “I am excited to join the firm at such an important point in its journey and to build on the strong foundations already in place. My focus will be on investing in our people, deepening client relationships, and leading HKA through its next phase of growth.”
Renny Borhan meanwhile moves into the non-executive role of strategic advisor to the board. He will remain closely involved in supporting the leadership transition and the firm’s continued development.
Since launching in 2017, HKA has become a leading global consultancy in risk mitigation, forensic investigations, dispute resolution, expert witness and litigation support services. As one of the firm’s founders, Borhan has played a significant role in helping the firm become a profitable, and internationally respected business in less than a decade. Under his leadership, HKA has expanded in scale, capability, and geographic reach.
Borhan added, “It has been a privilege to lead HKA and to work alongside so many talented colleagues in building the firm to where it is today. I am proud of what we have achieved together and confident in the future of the business. Steve is an excellent choice to lead HKA in its next phase, and I look forward to supporting him and the firm.”
