RMT opens new London office at Cavendish Square
Newcastle-headquartered RMT Accountants & Business Advisors has moved its London office to new premises in Cavendish Square.
Founded over 70 years ago, RMT Accountants & Business Advisors has a team of 9 directors and over 150 staff, offering services in areas such as accounting, audit, corporate finance, restructuring, tax, and technology. The firm operates with offices in Newcastle, Durham, Hexham, Hexham, Berwick, and London.
In London, the firm focuses on business recovery and restructuring work, building on the 2024 acquisition of specialist restructuring firm KSA Group. Key services include business restructuring and rescue, administrations and CVAs, voluntary liquidations, individual voluntary arrangements, bankruptcy, and confidential advice to directors facing financial difficulty.
The new premise is based at Cavendish Square, a prestigious garden square in London’s Marylebone district, just north of Oxford Street and close to the West End.
“Our London team is an important part of our restructuring offering, and our aim is to scale RMT’s reach across the region through the skills of our expert recovery specialists and by leveraging the additional resources that being part of the Sumer Group provides,” said Chris Ferguson, Director of RMT’s Restructuring practice.
In sync with the office move, RMT has appointed Manjit Shokar as Head of Recovery and Insolvency for London and the South of England. He brings almost 25 years of professional services experience and has previously held senior business recovery roles across the sector, including at Begbies Traynorr, MHA and Grant Thornton.
“The strength of RMT’s insolvency offering is well recognised in our industry and there’s a great opportunity to extend our presence in London and the South. Every business recovery and restructuring case is different, meaning the solutions we develop have to be just as individualised, and we have the expertise and experience to deliver the best possible outcomes for everyone involved,” Shokar said.
RMT is part of the Sumer Group, which acquired the business in February 2024.
