Meet five of Grant Thornton’s newest partners
Grant Thornton has significantly grown the size of its partnership in the first quarter, welcoming 26 new equity partners. Meet five of the firm’s newest partners.
Shuvo Banerjee has been promoted to partner in the Advisory business, based in London. He is a member of the Internal Audit team within the Financial Services industry vertical, focus on mid-market banking clients. He supports clients with topics including regulatory change, control s, risk management, and large-scale financial transformation.
Ekrem Shahin has joined the partnership from KPMG. A member of the Corporate Finance team, he has over 12 years of experience in the telecom, media and technology sector, with a focus on dealmaking engagement across enterprise software and entertainment. He works with founders, management teams and investors.
Sofie Morgan has been promoted to partner in the Transaction Tax team, having joined Grant Thornton as a graduate in 2015. She is based in London and brings extensive experience advising on tax in transactions, particularly for lower to mid-market private equity, providing services including tax due diligence, tax structuring, SPA review and funds flow support.
Sandy Sullivan, who came over from Deloitte, specialises in audit work for private equity-backed and technology, media and telecommunications businesses. Based in London, he supports clients with regulatory audit, financial reporting, and internal audit.
Kate Lilleyman has joined the Forensic & Investigation Services practice. She joins Grant Thornton following senior roles at S&W and Kroll and brings almost two decades of experience supporting clients across a broad spectrum of claims involving shareholders, intellectual property, contracts, misrepresentation and alleged fraud. She has advised on and testified in domestic and international litigation and arbitration proceedings across sectors.
Malcolm Gomersall, CEO of Grant Thornton in the UK, said the addition of 26 new equity partners in the first quarter of 2026 marks a major next step in its growth ambition – the firm plans to recruit 160 new partners over the next two years. Grant Thornton currently has around 200 partners, the goal is to hit over 350 partners by the end of 2027.
