Trio of partners appointed in Bishop Fleming Birmingham hub
Audit, accountancy, tax and advisory firm Bishop Fleming has added three partners to its fast-growing Birmingham office. James Taylor in audit, Tim Thackaberry in valuations, and Mark Taylor as office lead all join the partnership.
Bishop Fleming has been quickly expanding its Birmingham office, in recent months – particularly extending its specialist leadership in audit for not-for-profit (NFP) organisations and bolstering its valuation services for clients across the Midlands and beyond. The latest addition of this trio takes the number of partners to eight and brings the total based in the city to nearly 30 people, in a little over a year since its Colmore Row office was launched.
James Taylor has been appointed audit partner, specialising in Not‑for‑Profit organisations. Formerly a senior figure with BDO and Cooper Parry, he will work closely with Bishop Fleming’s regional hubs, focusing on driving growth and presence for Bishop Fleming’s NFP audit offer across sectors, including charities, social housing providers, educational institutions and wider public-interest entities.

Tim Thackaberry joins the advisory team in a newly created role, providing non-contentious valuation services to the firm’s audit and tax clients. He has held senior roles at BDO, Forvis Mazars, and, most recently, Azets, where he significantly expanded the forensic and valuation practice, and will now support both tax and financial reporting functions at Bishop Fleming by providing specialist valuation expertise across a range of scenarios, including valuing shares for employee share schemes and company buy-outs.

Mark Taylor finally arrives in the partnership as Bishop Fleming’s Birmingham office lead. As a former regional managing partner of RSM, he was originally brought into Bishop Fleming in a consultancy role and has been instrumental in establishing and growing the office from scratch.
Taylor summarised, “It’s been a privilege to help launch something new to the West Midlands market over the last 15 months. My appointment as a partner cements my ambition to continue that journey with Bishop Fleming and continue building something fresh in the mid-market space.
