US-headquartered Kroll has launched a dedicated Economics Advisory practice, led from London with additional team launches in Delhi, Dubai and Sydney.

The new practice marks Kroll’s expansion into economics advisory – a field traditionally dominated by large strategy consultancies, specialist economic advisory firms and the economics arms of the Big Four.

Kroll said its Economics Advisory practice will help organisations “bring clarity to a wide spectrum of complex economic and strategic challenges”, offering services spanning macroeconomic analysis, geoeconomic forecasting, scenario and risk analysis, policy and regulatory insight, and market intelligence.

Michael Dolan, President of Financial Advisory at Kroll, said the move responds to growing market demand for insights that enable faster decision-making amid global macroeconomic uncertainty, geopolitical tensions and rapid technological change.

“Clients are facing unprecedented challenges – volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity – across every aspect of business strategy and operations, and they demand trusted, uncompromised, technology-enabled solutions,” said Dolan.

“Our new Economics Advisory practice gives leaders the clarity, consistency and confidence to move quickly and make better decisions to stay ahead of change, as well as to protect, restore and maximise business value.”

Appointed to build and lead the new practice is Managing Director Matt Corkery, who has more than 30 years of experience advising investors, corporates and governments across sectors including energy, communications, transport, financial services, manufacturing and retail. He specialises in impact analysis, macroeconomic forecasting, geoeconomic stress testing, and policy and regulatory advice.

Prior to joining Kroll, Corkery spent 15 years as a partner at EY, where he served as Global Leader of the firm’s Economic Advisory practice.

“It is an exciting time for Kroll to launch its Economics Advisory practice,” said Corkery. “I look forward to supporting Kroll’s clients across a range of strategic activities, from geoeconomic modelling and scenario planning to policy insight and market analysis.”

The launch continues a period of rapid capability expansion for Kroll. In recent months, the firm has also announced the launch of its Decision Intelligence, Fund Solutions, and Trade and Customs practices. Meanwhile, the group has completed the acquisitions of Global Project Strategy in Colombia, Madison Pacific in Asia Pacific, and Kirby Healy in Ireland.
