Hernan Saenz to lead Bain strategy and transformation practice

Strategy consulting giant Bain & Company has announced the appointment of Hernan Saenz as head of its global strategy and transformation practice. The senior partner and former member of Bain’s board of directors, brings to his new position more than 25 years’ experience at the firm.

According to Saenz, his team will now work to champion “Bain’s mission to partner our clients to drive unparalleled levels of economic value while setting new standards for our respective industries”. In particular, he noted excitement at working with those clients to “drive towards industry leadership, and to bring Bain’s expertise to help them chart their course and turn their ambitions into reality.”

A senior partner, Saenz is already a former member of Bain’s board of directors, having served as the global head of Bain’s performance improvement practice. During his tenure there, the practice more than tripled in scale under his leadership while helping clients around the world drive exceptional value through business model transformations. Prior to this, he served as the managing partner of Bain’s Dallas, Houston, and Mexico offices and oversaw a doubling in the size of Bain’s Southwest region.

Saenz succeeds Dunigan O’Keeffe as leader of the strategy and transformation practice. O’Keeffe brought together the teams as one practice, while a statement from the firm said he had driven “a continued focus on strategy through the major disruptions of recent years.”
