Ben Morphet leads EY’s Financial Services practice in the Midlands

Big Four firm EY has appointed Ben Morphet as its new Financial Services Leader for the Midlands.

In his new role, Ben Morphet will lead the strategy and go-to-market approach for EY’s financial services team in the region, as well as oversee propositions, client delivery and talent management. He leads the firm’s multidisciplinary services, spanning assurance, tax, technology, management consulting and risk & compliance services to the banking and capital markets, insurance, and wealth and asset management sectors.

Morphet has been with EY since 2004 and has spent the past 18 years working within the financial services landscape. The Birmingham-based partner, who comes from an audit and assurance background, works primarily with large life assurance groups, general insurers and pension schemes. He has extensive experience in leading large external audit engagements and other assurance-related projects.

Commenting on his appointment, Morphet said: “The Midlands is an incredibly important part of the country’s financial services landscape, with a diverse mix of established institutions and fast-growing businesses. The region also has a fantastic talent pool, with leading universities and a growing professional services community. I am excited to work with our teams, clients and broader stakeholders as we help them navigate the landscape ahead.”

Morphet takes over from Martina Neary, who is has moved on to become EY’s Financial Services Clients and Industries Leader for the UK and Ireland.
