MHA welcomes Craig McSherry as partner in banking wing

Craig McSherry has been named a partner with MHA. Taking up the role in the firm’s expanding banking and capital markets team, he will report to CEO Rakesh Shaunak.

Shaunek noted, “We are delighted to welcome Craig to MHA. His deep sector knowledge, proven leadership and extensive experience in financial services auditing make him a valuable addition to our team. Craig’s appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to investing in top talent to support the growing needs of our clients in this rapidly evolving sector.”

Since launching in 1869, MHA has become an international professional services provider of audit and assurance, tax, accountancy and advisory services, based in the UK with an international presence. Following the acquisition of Baker Tilly South-East Europe last year, the firm now employs nearly 2,200 people and has 153 partners across its network of 30 offices in the UK, Ireland, South-East Europe and the Cayman Islands.

With the banking and capital markets industry facing the familiar spectre of complex regulation, new technology and economic unpredictability, the need for a highly specialist team of advisors has never been greater. With a team of more than 10 experts, MHA’s banking and capital markets wing offers global clients and partners technical expertise, informed by a deep-rooted understanding of industry trends and challenges.

McSherry brings over 15 years of experience in financial services to that team. He previously worked at Big Four firm PwC, where he specialised in delivering audit and assurance services to multinational investment banks, retail banks, brokers, structured finance entities and fintech companies.

At MHA he will continue to support regulated organisations across a wide range of financial services activities, including client money audits, regulatory reporting and controls assurance. His expertise also works toward MHA’s strategic ambition to grow its financial services offering across the UK and internationally.

McSherry added, “I’m excited to be joining MHA at a time of significant growth and opportunity. The firm has a strong reputation in financial services, and I look forward to contributing to the development of its banking and capital markets practice. Helping to build a dynamic, high‑quality team and supporting clients across the sector is something I’m very passionate about.”
