Carlsquare welcomes Maurice Harbison as new partner
Former EY Partner Maurice Harbison has joined Carlsquare. He brings more than two decades of experience to the role.
With around 70 deals per year, Carlsquare is one of the larger specialised M&A advisory firms in Europe. The company focuses on technology and growth companies and employs around 180 people across 12 locations in 8 countries.
Carlsquare’s business in the UK and Germany is growing even closer together. Harbison – an Irish-German national – further boosts the practices, and will be based in both Berlin and London. The tech deal expert has already advised on transactions with a total volume of over $40 billion, including numerous cross-border deals.
He joins from EY‘s London office, where he was a partner in the technology corporate finance division. Prior to that, he was managing director at Bryan, Garnier & Co, responsible for transactions in Munich and London. He began his career at KPMG, before moving to NM Rothschild, followed by several senior roles in technology-focused mid-market consultancies.
Mark Miller, co-founder and managing partner at Carlsquare, said, “Maurice’s focus on fast-growing technology companies in areas such as payment infrastructure and asset management are exactly what we are looking for to support our expansion.”
Michael Moritz, also co-founder and managing partner, added: “He combines a first-class institutional background with practical mid-market experience and perfectly complements our global team.”
Harbison said of the news via a post on LinkedIn, “Delighted to join Carlsquare, a leading global M&A... With a commitment to successful client outcomes, a collaborative partner-led approach and entrepreneurial mindset, Carlsquare’s truly international platform fully aligns with client’s expectations.”
