Andersen Consulting adds forensics expert Lighthouse Consulting to UK offering
Andersen Consulting has continued its recent UK expansion, agreeing a second partnership with a London-based consultancy in a year. Lighthouse Consultants will grow the organisation’s forensic accounting and financial investigations offering.
“Lighthouse Consultants’ forensic capabilities and investigative depth strengthen our ability to address the increasing complexities organisations face in today’s regulatory and risk environment,” said Mark L Vorsatz, global chairman and CEO of Andersen Consulting. “Their services are complementary to our overall platform and further develop our integrated solutions to meet the evolving needs of clients.”
Founded by Managing Director Kingsley Bye, Lighthouse Consultants provides services including fraud and financial crime investigations, bribery and corruption inquiries, litigation and insurance claims analysis, financial analysis, risk assessments, internal and compliance reviews, and sustainability audits. The firm’s team of chartered management accountants works with law firms, high-net-worth individuals, businesses, and charities to resolve complex disputes, mitigate risks, and enhance transparency across financial and operational processes.
"By integrating our forensic and investigative expertise with Andersen’s global platform, we can deliver a more comprehensive suite of services that addresses clients’ needs from risk prevention to complex dispute resolution,” Kingsley said. “This collaboration allows us to bring deeper insights, strengthen clients’ compliance posture, and help them take a proactive rather than reactive approach while delivering measurable value."
Recent revival
As recently as the early 2000s, Arthur Andersen was one of what was then the ‘Big Five’ accounting groups. As part of that, Andersen Consulting was one of the world’s largest consulting firms. When Andersen collapsed in 2002 after the Enron accounting scandal, Andersen Consulting continued to operate as a standalone business, eventually rebranding as Accenture – today, one of the largest consulting firms in the world by revenue.
The resurrection of Andersen as its own brand kicked off in 2014, when former Arthur Andersen partner Mark Vorsatz acquired rights to the corporate identity. The Andersen Consulting business that resulted from that focuses on tax and legal work, and has grown to a network of more than 20,000 professionals worldwide and a presence in over 160 countries worldwide.
The collaboration agreement with Lighthouse Consultants sees the firm open up for work in the accounting sector. It also complements the purchase of Stratence Partners, another London-based consultancy, this time specialising in pricing, which Andersen completed a deal for in June 2025.
